Kimono, au bonheur des dames

Today we went to visit the exhibition “Au Bonheur des Dames” at the Musée Guimet in Paris. I highly recommend this exhibition because it is superb! The exhibition is a private collection lent by the oldest silk mill of Japan and it traces the history of the Kimono since Edo period  (1600-1854).

I practiced the Kitsuke myself for some time now, so I could explained a lot of things to Maho and she enjoyed it very much. We were able to enjoy the permanent collection, which is very interesting too and has rare pieces (dating back to prehistoric times). We had a great day really! Finally we had a coffee and we already booked another journey as Maho really wants to come to the medieval faire of Provins.
